In the world of avant-garde fashion, and some other things that make people’s heads turn… it’s as though a pillow shoe, much like an Ugg has made it’s way into mainstream fashion, this has too. And a lot of it has to do with comfort, and this un-conforming aesthetic of humor and carelessness. In this case, it’s a little more chic, and perhaps slimming on the ankles… but what is it really?
My theory, short of conspiracy, is that not only is it comfortable on the foot, but mentally looks comfortable. Maybe us humans want to insert ourselves into big comforters, and if that comforter comes in the form of fine Italian leather and a beautiful soul… so be it. I want to look how I feel, and I hope this trend never dies!
